SOLUTIONS

It is easy to identify problems.
We all do it. We gripe, complain and bemoan "only if they did this"...
I am unable to provide evidence of a single American citizen who feels everything is just fine.

To those who have much, they want more.
To those who have little, they want more.

More rights. More freedom. More money. More power.

At one time we raised our children under the idea of work hard, attain good grades, get a good job.
Sadly, the day of the thirty year company man retiring with a good pension is long gone.

ALL hard goods are on the rise price wise. Gasoline, food, entertainment costs.
We'll look at our tax burden in another post. Suffice it to say we as American's are taxed to death..and even death is taxed!

So; is there a solution for this spiraling out of control rise in costs?

The better question is "who will represent our best interests"?

As of January 7, the salary for a U.S Senator is $174,000
Half of the current U.S Senators are millionaires!

Pardon my stupid question, but can anyone tell me how a millionaire remotely understands what it is like to live as a average American?

Politics has become a lucrative profession. Obviously, there is far more than just their salaries. Benefits too; big benefits!

Most of the people reading my blog operate financially within a budget. When you or I decide it's time to purchase a car or perhaps a new TV, we need to see if it fits in our budget.

A Senator or a congressman for that matter do not have such thoughts.

How about waking 2 hrs prior to your scheduled time to begin work because of heavy traffic on the highway?
Find out for yourself how many of these golden children must contend with driving; please!

SOLUTION: Pay every one of these senators a flat $50K/year!

Oh I can hear it now.

"How can we live in Georgetown?" "How can I possibly send my kids to private schools?" "What about security for me and my family?"

Are we allowed as Americans to ask the same questions?

The average American has simpler questions. "How do I buy groceries for my family?" Clothing?
Gasoline? A vacation? Forget the vacation! Your elected officials travel for FREE all in the name of fact finding. I'd love to find some facts on the beaches of Hawaii!

Can you imaging what would happen if politics were no longer financially lucrative?

We might actually get people to run for office who had a heart for the people, because they would be one of us! Their interests would be our interests.

Alas, "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" is just a movie....
